When opening a comic, the app freezes for some seconds, becomes unresponsive, gives no indication of what is happening. I’d guess it’s loading on the main thread.
And today, it’s not loading at all, it just freezes and after a few minutes it crashes.

Sorry to hear that. This is very weird. When we open a new comic, if it takes a while to load it, you should see a small hud with a spinner indicating the comic is loading.
Would it be possible for you to send us via email one of the comics that is not working for you, as well as your device information (which model of iOS device)?
