Option to “Resume from previous horizontal pan position (start at right edge for RTL)” on wide pages

Summary
When reading wide/landscape pages in RTL (right-to-left), reopening the same page starts at the left edge. Even with Lock Zoom enabled, the horizontal pan position is not restored.
I’d like an option to resume from the previously read horizontal position, ideally starting at the right edge for RTL reading.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open a wide page (reading direction: RTL).
  2. Pan to the right edge and read.
  3. Navigate away or close the app.
  4. Return to the same page → it starts at the left edge.

Expected Behavior

  • When the page is shown again, restore the previous horizontal pan position (e.g., right edge).
  • Ideally provide settings such as:
    • “Remember pan position per page (together with zoom level).”
    • “Start wide pages at the right edge when in RTL.”
    • Global toggle, per-book override, and a temporary Quick Action.

Actual Behavior

  • Page number and zoom level are preserved, but the left/right pan position resets.

Use Cases / Benefits

  • Eliminates repetitive “scroll back to the right edge” on wide pages.
  • Improves immersion and one-hand usability for RTL readers; better accessibility.
  • Helpful with Panels View and large-format PDFs as well.

Environment (examples)

  • Device: [iPhone/iPad model]
  • iOS/iPadOS: [version]
  • Panels: [app version]
  • Reading setup: [single/double page, RTL on/off, Lock Zoom on/off]
  • File type: [CBZ/CBR/PDF/ZIP…]
  • Storage: [Local / iCloud / OPDS / NAS]

Implementation Ideas (optional)

  • Apply only when aspect ratio is wide (e.g., width/height > 1.2).
  • Save pan position + zoom level per page, optionally sync with iCloud reading progress.
  • Possible location: Reader Settings → Navigation / Scrolling → “Resume from previous horizontal position.”
  • Prioritize right-edge start when RTL is enabled.

Thank you for considering this! It would significantly improve the experience on wide pages.
