Last year Bookwalker Global has split from their Japan parent company and they are going to release a rebranding this month with an entirely new website and app.
One of the new features is that you’ll be able to download your purchased titles in LCP format (.lcpl).
Now my question is if there are plans to support this format in the near future?
As far as I know, lcpl is the Readium Protected Document format, which has DRM and requires the use of the Thorium Reader to validate the license of the document. We only support DRM-free files. Unfortunately, we won’t be able to support it. lcpl is a container for formats like ePUB and PDF (which we support), so I assume there are methods for stripping the DRM layer and converting the lcpl to the underlying format.
