Desperate appeal to developer: remote & accessibility

Hi Panels developer,

I unfortunately have a severe disability that relegates me to complete bedrest for days on end. I have my iPad and Kindle mounted on mechanical arms and use this remote to control my [jailbroken] Kindle’s back/forth page movement. Unfortunately I don’t have a solution for my beloved Panels app and my arm gets really tired having to lift them every time to turn the pages.

Being able to to move back and forth in pages with a bluetooth remote would be an absolute godsend. My dream is to be able to control using the remote linked above as it’s the best of the bunch and very inexpensive.

It uses bluetooth and easily connects to my iPad but only turns volume up and down (though there’s an amazon user that posted a video in the reviews showing it works for the iPad Kindle app, which surprises me).

I would be on my knees to beg you I’m stuck in bed again. Please, please, please consider this request. Is there any way to get this working with Panels or is there any affordable remote that works with Panels to move back and forth between pages?

Edit: it looks like there’s been some discussion in the Panels Discord about this exact topic but it’s unclear what works and doesn’t in Panels.

It looks like there’s no hope for my current remote, but Satechi R2 and possibly 8bitdo Mini Controller could work to control Panels on my iPad.

Just answered on Discord, but for visibility:

we are going to add a section in the app to help people configure their bluetooth controller.

Keep in mind that Panels simply uses iOS BT controller support. We don’t implement low-level compatibility with different models of devices. But this section we plan to add in future versions, will help troubleshoot issues and provide some guides to configure known-to-be-compatible devices.

I hope you can find a device that works for you. We’ll keep looking into offering support for more devices and, if there’s anything we can do to increase compatibility, we will do.
